The Three Rivers Regional Assembly is the voice of local and regional Aboriginal communities. Our goal is to strengthen cultural integrity and ensure our communities have self-determination when it comes to the services and projects that are being developed and implemented.
The name collaborates the three rivers of our Wiradjuri Nation bordering the Wambuul (Macquarie River), the Kalari (Lachlan River) and the Murrumbidjeri (Murrumbidgee River). Also including the Murray, Little River, Bell River, Cudgegong River, Bogan River, Turine River and a portion of the Castlereagh River.

In September 2014, the Three Rivers Regional Assembly became part of the OCHRE Local Decision Making program. We’re working towards signing a binding Accord with the NSW Government that sets out the agreed priorities and projects of our assembly, as well as the rules on how decision making will be shared between us and the Government.
The Accord will transform the way we work together by giving Aboriginal communities a progressively bigger say in what services are delivered to them, and how they are delivered.
TRRA members are either an Aboriginal Working Party or a Local Aboriginal Land Council; currently representative of eleven communities: Bathurst, Dubbo, Gilgandra, Mudgee, Narromine, Orange, Parkes, Peak Hill, Trangie, Warren and Wellington.
